Kings of the Wild Frontier by Mark Keathley
Return back to the golden years of the 1950's, a time when Davy Crockett's Coon Skin Cap was in style for boys.  A time when many a young boy dreamed of being the proud owner of a "Daisy Red Ryder" BB Gun.  A time when a boy, accompanied by his trusty slingshot and his Golden Retriever pup, could go hunting with his older brother who was lucky enough to have his own "Daisy Red Ryder". I try to capture the breathtaking excitement and joy of being deep in a forest among creatures of the wild, such as squirrels, rabbits, raccoons, frogs, ladybugs, cardinals, blue jays, and a bounding deer. Since 1938, when the Daisy Manufacturing Company first began offering the "Daisy Red Ryder" BB Gun for target shooting, countless boys have taken their "Daisy Red Ryder" into the forests of their own backyards.  All across America each and everyone of them has experienced how it feels to be Kings of the Wild Frontier

The holidays are all about time together as a family. The weather gets colder and the days get shorter, signaling to black bears that it’s time to hibernate. I can only imagine how hard it must be for a tired mother bear to get her kids to sleep for that long. You know there’s always one awake, just like so many of us were as kids staying up waiting for Santa. In this painting, one little mischievous bear cub is refusing to sleep, and he sees you!

Tidings of Comfort & Joy by Abraham Hunter
I love feeding songbirds that come to my feeders each winter.  By the end of the season, I know some of my feathered friends by name, and cant wait til they return the next winter. They always seem to come cheer me up right around Christmas, almost as if bringing me tidings of comfort and joy as the angels did when baby Jesus was born.
