Sometimes in life the “cold” presses in on the soul to an extent that you think you will not survive it. Like these Native Americans in their deer skin clothes and Elk or Buffalo robes, we often have to “brave” the elements of a society that is a bit like a winter day. With our electronic fascinations and noisy distractions, the warmth of what is possible in relationships often is covered over by the bitter cold feelings of aloneness or loss. Once, while lying in my warm and comfortable bed, I was anguishing over a loss in my life while gazing out the large window at the bleak winter gray of our yard. I was imagining this “pain” going on forever, and out of despair asked the Lord what He wanted me to know about it. Immediately this thought popped in my head - “Spring Will Come.” “Thank You,” I replied, and I rose up for another day with the hope that more blessing was ahead.
