In the wee hours of the morning, we are often awakened with thoughts of terror or worry. Something about the darkness causes us to feel alone and vulnerable. Voices or sounds speak into our souls something of our vulnerability and a train of thoughts and imagined events follow along. Like this cowboy who heard the ruckus and went out in the moonlight to keep the herd from scattering and being lost, I often awake in the night and simply entrust my family into God's care. Speaking into the darkness a prayer of faith, trusting in his love for us, settles our hearts and puts a stop to the NIGHT JITTERS.
