Solitude by Mark Keathley

You've driven till late in the night to get to the coast. You’ve unpacked the bags, the kids, the groceries, and gotten everyone to bed.  You had hoped you would wake up before everyone else, so you could have a little bit of time alone, and you did.  The door cooperated and opened silently as you slipped out and navigated through the corridors to the back entrance of the hotel where a boardwalk leads you to where the sun is beckoning.  A radiant warm glow is coming from the east, illuminating everything in a reddish glow. The seagull calls on the warm light breeze, a young man is setting up some umbrellas for the guests, but so far it is just you and your time of "Solitude."
